'+chinks'
[2020-09-03 20:16:04] - paul:  it reminds me of that time you and aaron talked about that word:  "coincidentally using a phrase like 'niggardly' or 'chinks in the armor' is yeah more of an edge case and that's when it comes down to intent."  ~a

[2018-10-17 09:42:21] - that said coincidentally using a phrase like "niggardly" or "chinks in the armor" is yeah more of an edge case and that's when it comes down to intent. obviously an innocuous phrase like "the rams deserved that loss" can be homophobic depending on context and the intent of the speaker but i don't think these particular examples you've given are nuanced at all - aaron

[2018-10-09 15:08:43] - https://aporter.org/msg/?action=search&search=chink / https://aporter.org/msg/?action=search&search=chinks . . . only one of those results is an actual usage of that word (in 2002).  also weirdly enough, the *2012* discussion regarding lin had miguel on the opposite side of the argument from paul, but maybe i'm mis-assessing things a little bit.  ~a

[2002-02-10 13:27:37] - if i have body armor A, which has maybe 4 or 5 little chinks in it where a person might be able to penetrate it with a few well-placed shots, otoh there's body armor B that has a huge gaping hole in it.  body armor B only has 1 vunerability, but which one do you think is more secure. - mig
