All: Random question for folks - have any of you heard of the Wheel of Time or have any idea that is? Just curious.

paul: regarding the model 3 and level 3, i don't think it does "The car senses when conditions require the driver to retake control and provides a 'sufficiently comfortable transition time' for the driver to do so". level 3 you're expected to keep your hands on the wheel at all times. maybe that will change.

a: If I gave you a one time chance to spin a roulette wheel with 3 winning slots and 1 losing slot and it cost you... $500k to spin the wheel. Winning means you end up with $750k and losing means you get $250k, you don't think you would do it?

mig: ok, but in this case, they are. the same number (annual per 100k) is ~9 in death by motor vehicle when you aren't a pedestrian. so, since we spend way more time behind the wheel (and this is also backed up by studies): it's safer to be in a car than out of it. that's just backwards!

gurkie: Yes, there's a planned cap. I think he said 13, but it's been a while since I looked, so DD. He's young and healthy. The only thing that would keep him from finishing it is if he can't sell them, which happened after the first 7 for a while. But even that doesn't really matter because it's not a series like LoTR or Wheel of Time where it's one ginormous story.

gurkie: Brandon Sanderson. he's the author finishing up the Wheel of Time series and has a bunch of his own books that are good.

I'd use thumb for both right and left clicking, index and middle finger for tracking, and ring finger for scrolling. I think that was the device everyone else hated to use.

dave: seriously though, i think your study is highly dubious. every time i jerk on the wheel, slam on the breaks, and scream "asshole" all at the same time, it's never an african american. i'd like to see some real numbers. (/me looks for real numbers)
